Part of the Relapse Prevention Workbook for
Chemically Dependent Criminal Offenders
Concluding Remarks
We hope you have worked through all the exercises in this workbook.
If you have, then you are ready for the next step, which is the
most important of all: putting your relapse prevention plan into
action. If you have not completed the entire workbook, we hope
you will go back and complete it.
You must stop using alcohol and drugs. However, this action alone
will not change your life. Recovery means giving up your old ways
of thinking, feeling, and acting, so that you can have a better
life. You can live without worrying about legal problems,
getting alcohol or drugs, and all of the issues associated with
chemical dependency.
In order for this to happen, you must put the things you have
learned here into action. You also must be willing to learn more.
Many people who used to abuse alcohol or drugs and commit crimes
are living healthy, happy lives today because they worked on the
suggestions in this workbook. You can, too.
